Alex Koenigsmark (1944) - jury chairman

Alex Koenigsmark

He graduated in dramaturgy and scriptwriting after he had studied at professor Milan Kundera. He is a scriptwriter but most of all he loves writing books (e.g. Journey of Section Chief to the Sea or Siromacha). Currently he has been working on a never-ending radio series of the Czech Radio 2 - Praha called Life is Tough. He writes scripts for the theatre (e.g. Once Upon a Time There Was a Dragoon or Beetles - Gospel according Beatles) as well as for the television (e.g. Visionary or Bad Minute). He also co-operated with Lucie Konečná on the first forty-five parts of a series called Surgery In Rose Garden as a story liner (under an assumed name Josef Bernard). He worked with film makers as well. He is an author of many radio plays (e.g. Good-bye White Rabbits, Pony Who Is Tired, Comedy about Comedy or White as Coffee). In the year 1987 he was awarded the prize "Golden Nymph" in Monte Carlo and in the year 2005 the Main Prize in the competition European Feature Story.

Ľubica Olšovská (1963) - jury member

Ľubica Olšovská

She graduated from the Slovak University of Technology, The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Since 1989 she has been working with Slovak Radio as professional sound master. Her sound master skill is evident in following radio plays: 1993 - Jazva (The Scar), Spolok klobúkových dám (The Hatted Ladies Company), 1995 - Rodinná fotografia (The Family Picture), Vrana Florenťanka (The Crow of Florence), 1997 - Kľúče (The Keys), Pštrosí vlak (The Ostrich Train), 1999 - Denník nežnej (The Diary of The Velvet), Ema a Emil (Ema and Emil).

Róbert Horňák (1965) - jury member

Róbert Horňák

He is a director representing middle generation. Already during his studies he appeared as a guest in the theatre houses in Martin and Zvolen (Central Slovakia). From 1993 he was a director in the theatre in Spišská Nová Ves (Eastern Slovakia). Since 1996 he has been working as a director in Slovak Radio. For his radio creations as a director he received many awards (e.g. the prize for direction at the International Prix Ex Aequo Radio Drama Festival, 2004).

Rudolf Matys (1938) - jury member

Rudolf  Matys

In the year 1961 he graduated from the Faculty of Social Science at the University of Pedagogy. Since 1967 he has worked as an editor of Literal edition of the Czechoslovak Radio, actually Czech Radio 3 - Vltava. Currently he has co-operated only externally. He is an author of several hundreds of radio programmes. In the year 1995 his programme, thirty-part cycle called Semper viva was awarded by the Foundation of the Czech Literature Fund as the best radio programme of the year. He has published four books of poetry, two prose-books, books for children and a cultural - historic monograph on the history of the Artistic Forum. For many years he has been devoted to literature and radio critique, belles-letters and editorial work. He is a member of the Corporation of Writers, Czech Centre of International Pen Club, Management Board of Artistic Forum and a chairman of Board of Editors of the revue Life.

Jiří Adámek (1977) - jury member

Jiří Adámek

He studied direction of alternative and marionette theatre at the Theatre Academy of Music Arts where he is now finishing his academic dissertation titled "Dramatic Art in Experimental Theatre - théâtre musical. As a director he mostly focuses on scenic compositions where he combines musical and dramatic creative processes. In the year 2007 he founded a theatre group called Boca Loca LAB. He made several radio projects for PremEdition of Radiostudio. Apart from direction praxis he writes articles about current theatre production (occasionally also about radio production) and he is an editor of a magazine World and Theatre. He has received five nominations for his scenic composition called Tick Ticks of Politics in the Alfred Radok's competition. He was awarded in the year 2007 three prizes for his inscenation Book of Jungle in the following categories: best inscenation, best direction and best scenography. In the same year he was also awarded an honour Personality of the Year in Alternative Theatre by the Festival Next Wave for his musical - scenic compositions and their theoretic reflexion.
