Petr Pavlovský (1944) - jury chairman

Petr Pavlovský

In the year 1972 he graduated from the Charles University, drama branch. He received a doctorate degree in the year 1973 in drama, aesthetics and general theory of art. In years 1984-90 he worked as a lecturer of dramaturgy and later as a dramaturgist of the Central Marionette Theatre in Prague and because of totality regime he had several manual jobs. He is a founder of an association Societa Incognitorum Eruditorum that during the former regime was dealing illegally with science-popular and publication activity. He was not only a founder but also a leader of the association and up to the revolution in 1989, they monthly issued Acta Incognitorum. Since 1990 he was working as a pedagogue and in 1994 he became a head of Theatre and Film Art Department of the Charles University in Prague. After the Department had separated, he was a head of the Theatre Art Department until 2006. Currently he has been lecturing externally. He also worked for magazines Art and Craft, Panorama, Literary newspaper and Cultural weekly newspaper A2. He regularly contributes to Theatre newspaper and Radio weekly newspaper. In the year 2004 he published a dictionary called Basic Theatre Concepts. Since 1997 he has been devoted to radio theory and critique.

Věra Šťovíčková - Heroldová (1930) - jury member

Věra Šťovíčková - Heroldová

After her studies at the secondary and language school she worked from the year 1949 till 1970 as a foreign reporter and commentator of the Czech Radio. As she had participated in the Prague Spring in 1968 as well as in broadcasting on 21st August 1968, she was dismissed. After that she worked for a publisher Odeon as a translator under different names. She has been awarded several prizes such as 1st prize of Radio Harvest, Special Prize of 15th year of Competition of J. Fučík or Creative Award for a translation of Ben Okri's book Hungry Journey. She is an author of several books (African Pen-Drawings, Africa, Space for Hope or Storm above Equator) as well as artistic radio programmes (Let's Go Together to Bethlehem, From the Country of the Queen of Saba or Yemen in War). She translated about 60 titles (G. Simenon, R. van Gulik, J. Frazes, King Arthur etc.).

Milena Čeganová (1957) - jury member

Milena Čeganová

She graduated from the Philosophy Faculty of J. A. Komenský in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic, in journalism. Currently she has been a director of the Centre of Publicists in the Slovak Radio. She has been awarded many honourable mentions for her work in media, such as mention of Radio Harvest, in journalists' competition of Ministry of Internal Affairs, international mention in journalists' competition in a category "television" for a television report called Family or a mention of the Literature Fund in a category "radio" for investigative journalism. In 1989 she visited as a first foreign journalist at that time closed Republic of Chechnya. Furthermore, in connection with humanitarian aid she visited also Armenia, Lithuania, Serbia, Montenegro and many others.

Robert Tamchyna (1971) - jury member

Robert Tamchyna

He studied journalism and mass communication at the Charles University. Since 1989 he has been working externally in the Czech Radio. Initially he worked as an editor and moderator of the Czech Radio 2 - Praha and dealt mostly with political (e.g. "Discussions from Lány" with the president Václav Havel), cultural and social topics. In July 2005 he became a member of an editorial team of a digital and Internet station Czech Radio Leonardo, which is focused on popularization of science. For his reportage programmes, documentary collages or radio and newspaper political commentaries he has been awarded several prizes, such as Prize of Ferdinand Peroutka, Journalist Quail or awarding at the International Festival of Radio Programmes Prix Bohemia Radio.

Lubomír Zeman - jury member

Ľubomír Zeman

He graduated from the University of Philosophy, specialisation journalism. He was awarded an academic title for his work as a music publicist in a radio. He was on important positions in Slovak radio, he was a founder and a director of RADIO ROCK FM and a marketing director in Slovak radio. He is well-known as well as lyricist; he is an author of nearly 500 lyrics. He travelled all around many countries as a journalist and musician; he took photos and wrote reportages for reputable newspapers and magazines, he worked on radio programmes and television scenarios. Currently he has been working as an artistic producer for a business television TVA.
