Urgent
In the Czech Radio Plus podcast, reporters Martin Pařízek and Ondřej Vaňura go to the University Hospital in Motol. At the largest emergency room in the Czech Republic, they observe and describe the work of medical professionals in saving human lives.
They are guided by doctor and popular influencer Marek Dvořák, who comments on current cases directly in the emergency room. The episodes describe, for example, a case of cardiac arrest, delirium tremens, the announcement of a trauma plan, work of the air ambulance service, and also the story of a patient who Marek Dvořák saved after a collapse. After long months of recovery, the patient meets her savior for the first time directly in front of the radio microphones.
The series also includes two bonus episodes in which Marek Dvořák advises on how to avoid ending up in the emergency room (not only) during the summer holidays and adds ten tips for a safe holiday.
The series met with an extraordinary audience response with more than 350 thousand downloads after ten months of publication and the videos on Czech Radio's social networks have a total of over 15 million views.
This year, the authors are preparing a second series for broadcast, this time the main actors will be professionals from the Prague emergency service.
We will be presenting the project at Prix Bohemia Radio!
